A primary function of the Whittier International PTA is to raise money to support our mission, and to support critical school programs; our teachers, staff, and administration; and our students.

The PTA's annual budget funds schoolwide events, programs, supplies, and resources. The objective of this financial support is to build community and grow IB learning in our school. Examples of items funded by the PTA include: grade-level classroom supplies, world and heritage language teachers (e.g. Amity Intern), music and arts enrichment opportunities (e.g. MacPhail music program), and educational field trips. The PTA facilitates 4 major fundraising events during the school year; one each during the fall, winter, and spring, and one that occurs throughout the school year. (To learn more about each of these events, please click on the links in the upper right.)

• Fall - Give to the Max Day: Give to the Max Day (GTMD) is a Minnesota statewide day of giving facilitated by GiveMN. GTMD is a day for all Minnesotans to come together to create a better world for our children, our families, and our communities. 
• Winter - Read-A-Thon: The annual Read-A-Thon is our largest fundraiser consistenly raising over $10,000 each year. For 2-3 weeks during February, students read, tally their minutes read, and raise money through pledges for total minutes read. 
• Spring - Plant Sale: Our annual plant sale runs the week before Mother's Day in May. Customers can purchase annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, and more...with 50% of the purchase price going to our school. Information on this year's plant sale can be found at whittierplantsale.org. 
• Monthly (all year) - Project Whittier: Project Whittier is a partnership between the PTA and local restaurants to raise money for our school. There are Project Whittier event dates most months of the school year, August to June. For its event date, the participating restaurant agrees to donate a % of sales to the school. 

PTA also sells Spirit Wear and takes advantage of "passive" fundraising efforts (e.g., BoxTops for Education, AmazonSmile, Chinook Book Digital App). Click on the links in the upper right for more information on these programs. To purchase Spirit Wear, please visit our online store.

2. Write a check to "Whittier PTA." Deliver the check to the school's main office, or mail the check to school at 315 W. 26th St, Minneapolis, MN 55404
