Safe Routes to School
Bike Walk to School Day
Whittier celebrates students who bike or walk to school on three special occasions each year.

Whittier is a Safe Routes to School Site!    This means we do everything we can to make it safer and more enjoyable for students to walk and bicycle to school.  

Thanks to a generous grant from the state of Minnesota, Whittier will soon see infrastructure improvements for safer walking and biking.

Let's Roll
Whittier students participate in the district's Let's Roll bicycle ride, together with students from all over Minneapolis.

And of course, we are out on the Cafeteria Lawn three times per year for BIKE AND WALK TO SCHOOL DAY.  First Wednesday in October, February and May.  Strap on your walking shoes, dust off the Schwinn, it's time to walk or bike to Whittier!!
