WHITTIER HIGH 5 FAMILIES - PLEASE READ regarding the return to in-person learning for Pre-K slated for Monday, February 8, 2021

We will be offering the MORNING SECTION of High 5 as our in-person learning option for High 5.

What this means:

  • If you register for returning in-person, your student will be attending from 9:40-12:30.
  • Even if you are currently enrolled in our PM class, if you choose in-person learning at this time, your child will be attending High 5 in the morning, 9:40-12:30. This begins on February 8.
  • If you are driving/walking your child to school, you will not be able to come into the building to bring your child to class. You must drop them at the main Whittier door and staff will escort them to and from our classroom. You will pick up your child at Door 7 outside at 12:30.
  • If you are choosing to continue in Distance Learning, your child will still have Ms. Kristin and Ms. Tazia as teachers, but will be connecting at 1:30 for the daily learning meeting. Links will be sent in Seesaw as usual, but will be at 1:30.
  • If you are in the morning class and are choosing to remain in Distance Learning, we will be meeting with your children at 1:30 instead of 9:30.
  • Distance Learning activities will continue to be posted in your child's Seesaw account if you are remaining in Distance Learning.
  • Make sure your child has AT LEAST 2 proper fitting masks and are able to wear for long periods of time. Start practicing now to get your child in the routine of wearing a mask for 3-4 hours.
  • Please also remember that teachers need to remain socially distant from students - students will need to be self-sufficient in self-help skills. Teachers will be 3 - 6 ft apart away from students. Think about teaching your child to zip jackets, think about sending in shoes with Velcro instead of laces, think about teaching your child to zip and unzip backpacks and getting ready to put on outdoor clothing for recess time - snow pants, boots, coats, hats mittens. Remember, mittens are easier to put on than gloves.

I will continue to share more information as I receive it. If you continue to have questions or concerns, please reach out to my Google Voice phone, 612-424-2033, Monday-Friday, 9-3. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
