Welcome to Fifth Grade!

My name is Denise Malmgren and I have been an EL teacher at Whittier Elementary since 2012. Previously, I was a Reading Corp teacher in St. Paul. I have a Bachelors Degree in Commnunications from the College of St. Catherine and a K-12 Teacher's License in ESL from Hamline University.

I am proud to be a part of Whittier's team of talented and caring staff. I enjoy learning about my students’ cultures and languages. I want my students to be proud of their heritage and the languages they speak.
