Hi Whittier Wolves,
Welcome to this unique and exciting school year! I’m Ms. Tasha, School Social Worker for grades 3-5 and Federal Setting 3. I currently reside in Minneapolis with my three kids, my husband and our dog. When I’m not at work I enjoy reading, gardening, spending time with friends and family, and playing volleyball.
I have worked for Minneapolis Public Schools since 2015. I received my Bachelors of Science and Social Work from Minnesota State University, Mankato and later my Masters of Social Work from the University of MN, Twin Cities. My practice consists of Cognitive/Behavioral and Solution Focused techniques along with an emphasis in Critical Race Theory. I seek to empower students and families while working with the strengths and resources they already have. I enjoy helping students learn and develop new skills, which will help them be successful in school, learning and future adventures.
It is such a privilege to be at Whittier again this year. I am excited to connect with you all again, even if it is at a distance. You can learn about me and the social work department at this website: Whittier School Social Work
I look forward to supporting students in some awesome learning and community engagement this year!
