After School
Community Ed offers a wide variety of extracurricular, enrichment classes for Whittier students on a fee basis. Students who receive free-and-reduced-price lunch pay half-price for Community Ed after-school classes. Whittier's Afer School Activities Program (ASAP) runs Mon-Thur from school dismissal (4:10pm) until 5:45pm when buses depart. Sessions run in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Brochures come home in students' backpacks or are available online here. Jeff "Nacho" Carlson is Whittier's Community Ed Coordinator. ALC offers FREE extended-day academic learning in small group settings with licensed teachers. Kristin Bennett is Whittier's ALC Coordinator. You can reach her by email at kristin.bennett@mpls.k12.mn.us.

Before School
JumpStart, Whittier's before-school enrichment program, is a fun way for students to start their school day. JumpStart runs from 8:00am until school starts (9:40am) Mon-Thurs. Registration forms come home in students' backpacks or available in the Community Ed office (612-668-4181, room 136).
Before School GEMS and GISE: GEMS is Girls in Engineering Math and Science. GISE is Guys in Science and Engineering. Whittier offers both GEMS and GISE in its Community Ed after-school program, ASAP. For more information on GEMS/GISE at Whittier, click here. Or contact Jeff Carlson.
