I am delighted to be at Whittier International and get to know your children. I have worked at Whittier since 2011 and enjoy the diversity and spirit of the school and community. In speech we work on increasing our communication skills. I love communication and the processes and psychology behind it. I enjoy helping students uncover themselves through helping them improve their communication skills. After all, everyone has a unique story to tell. In speech at Whittier, we work on articulation, fluency, language, or voice goals for students on IEPs (Individualized Education Plans).
Prior to Whittier and working in the Minneapolis Public Schools, I gained experience in virtually every setting including hospital, rehabilitation center, nursing home and clinic. I have a broad array of skills in the areas of language, aural rehabilitation, stuttering, articulation, dysphagia, and laryngectomee. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN and my graduate degree is from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
In my free time I enjoy the outdoors: biking, paddle boarding, camping, cabining, and general exploration. I love spending time with my friends, family, and dog. My current goals are to be more proficient in a second language, take modern dance classes, and continue my study in the area of metaphysics.
Feel free to email or call me anytime with questions or concerns regarding communication.
