My name is Jesus E. Purisaca Ruiz and I was born in Jayanca, in northern Peru. I consider myself a busy man and I will tell you why. I studied law at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos where I graduated as a lawyer. Between 1987 and 2002, I also taught World History, Peruvian History, and Civic Education in Lima in several "academies," called "Academias Pre Universitarias," institutions where students who finished high school go to prepare for University. During 2000-2001, I studied International Trade and Integration in Sucre, Bolivia at the Universidad Andina Simon Bolivar and received a Master's Degree.
I started to learn to speak English here in Minneapolis in 2003, when I first arrived to the USA. I am so thankful to my teachers here in Minnesota at Abraham Lincoln School (Minneapolis) and Ronald Hubbs Center (Saint Paul), where I studied English from 2003 to 2007.
I started to work with Minneapolis Public Schools in August 2004 at Andersen United Community School, where I learned to grow more in my English, and began to know our South Minneapolis community more.
I started to work at Whittier International Elementary School in 2014 and I am so happy to be part of this important school because of the IB program.
Finally, I love to play music, to sing and to interact with all kinds of people--people of different backgrounds, races, beliefs, etc., because I think all human beings are unique and valuable, and deserve respect.
